Formal Complaints

Important: Verbal complaints will not be accepted, recorded, or acted upon. All complaints must be submitted in writing through this form to be formally recognized by the program.

At Sturgis Youth Football and Cheer, we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and transparent environment for every athlete, family, coach, and volunteer in our program. This page exists because we take every concern seriously - and because taking things seriously means doing them the right way.

Effective with the 2026 season, all formal complaints must be submitted through this form. This is the only accepted method for filing a complaint with the program. This policy exists not to create barriers, but to ensure that every concern is properly documented, fairly reviewed, and handled through the correct channels with full accountability on our end.

Verbal complaints cannot be formally processed or acted upon. We understand that is a strong policy, but it protects you just as much as it protects our coaches, directors, and volunteers - because every complaint submitted here creates a record, and every record gets a response.

What Happens After You Submit

Your complaint is received by the program administrator

Our program administrator, will log and document the submission and will ensure it is directed to the appropriate party


If the complaint involves a coach

If a complaint directly involves a coach, it is forwarded to the director responsible for that coach. The director will speak directly with the coach and complete an investigation before determining any next steps


If the complaint involves a Director or Board Member

If the complaint involves a director or board member, it is escalated to the next person in the chain of authority. The matter will be brought before the full board for review and discussion

All complaints are handled with confidentiality to the extent possible while still allowing a fair and thorough process. You will be acknowledged upon receipt of your submission and will be notified of every step through the investigation.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

This program was rebuilt in 2026 with accountability at its core. We will not dismiss, ignore, or minimize a complaint that is formally submitted through this process. Every concern will be reviewed and handled according to our established procedures — full stop. We ask for your patience and your trust as we work through each situation with the care it deserves.

If you are unsure whether your concern warrants a formal complaint, please don't hesitate to fill it out. Every complaint, big or small will be documented. On the form you may request an immediate call from a Director before proceeding with the investigation if one is needed.
